8 Heures de Suzuka pole position YART Michelin

Kats Nagasuka (YART-Michelin) pulverised the existing lap record for Suzuka to put the N°7 Yamaha-Michelin on pole for this year’s eight-hour classic. The Austrian team will start ahead of the fastest Japanese teams, namely Musashi RT Harc-Pro (2nd), Yoshimura Suzuki Racing Team (3rd) and FCC TSR Honda (4th).

The ‘Top 10 Trial’ turned out to be as thrilling as expected as the two fastest riders of the 10 best-place bikes in qualifying completed one flying lap each.

Ryuichi Kiyonari (Musashi RT Harc-Pro) believed that his effort of 2m7.063s had secured pole position, but Yamaha MotoGP test rider Kats Nagasuka posted an extraordinary lap of 2m6.845 to establish a new record for the track !!

In doing so, he claimed the first pole position in YART’s history and compensated for 2011 when first place on the grid escaped the team by just 0.024s.

It was also a remarkable feat for Michelin and showcased the quality of its products at an event where the competition between tyre manufacturers is particularly fierce.

Nagasuka’s pole-winning time marked an improvement of 1.5s over his best lap in qualifying…

Josh Waters (Yoshimura Suzuki Racing Team) was third (2m7.297), ahead of the 2011-winning FCC TSR Honda (2m8.077) and Toho Racing with Moriwaki.

The Eva RT Trick Star bike will start from sixth place, ahead of Honda Dream Sakurai. Last year’s pole-winner Yukio Kagayama (then with Yoshimura Suzuki Racing Team) put the N°1 Suzuki of the defending champions SERT eighth on the grid, 2.8s behind the YART Yamaha.

The top 10 was rounded off by Teluru Kohara RT and Honda Team Asia, while BMW Motorrad France Team Thevent (Michelin) will start from 11th place, GMT 94 (Michelin) will start from 15th place and Honda TT Legends will start from 17th place.

:eyepop: 2:06:838 ειναι το ρεκορ πιστας απο τον VR46 οταν ακομα δεν ειχε τεθει θεμα ασφαλειας της πιστας και ετρεχαν εκει και τα GP :a12:

όντως το ρεκόρ για μια τόσο μεγάλη πίστα είναι απίστευτο και με μοτό παραγωγής με -50 άλογα τουλάχιστον και ημέρα-νύχτα οι κατηγορίες....

σε pole position, γιατι τον καλήτερο χρόνο της πίστας τον είχε ο capirossi με 2'04.604 στο fp1 την ίδια χρονιά. Πάντως η διαφορά είναι όντως μικρή. Θα τολμούσα όμως να πώ ότι με 10 χρόνια εξέλιξη τα παραγωγής είναι πολύ κοντά στα τότε motogp.
