εν τω μεταξύ , κάτι που είχα παρατηρήσει από παλιότερα είναι πως οι ομάδες στο endurance χρησιμοποιούν φώτα σε σχήμα από παλιότερα μοντέλα ... στη Suzuki πχ θυμίζει έντονα του Κ5 (ίδιο θα'λεγα) και στην Kawasaki είναι από το μοντέλο του 06-07...
βέβαια όταν έτρεχαν το Κ5 χρησιμοποιούσαν φως σε σχήμα που αργότερα το βάλανε στο Κ7 παραγωγής...

Στη δεκάδα οι αναβάτες του MotoGP

Οι Pol Espargaro και Bradley Smith θα διεκδικήσουν την pole αύριο στον 8ωρο Αγώνα της Suzuka, παρά τη σφοδρή πτώση που είχε ο Ισπανός, την ώρα που ο Casey Stoner ήταν και πάλι ο γρηγορότερος στις Honda.

Σε αντίθεση με τα ελεύθερα της Πέμπτης, όταν μετρούσε η απόδοση της ομάδας, σήμερα Παρασκευή ο κάθε αναβάτης είχε δυο εξόδους στην πίστα (Q1 και Q2) για να γράψει τον καλύτερο δυνατό χρόνο.

Με τις ομάδες να έχουν χωριστεί ήδη από χτες σε δυο Γκρουπ - Α και Β - σήμερα είχαμε ουσιαστικά έξι 20λεπτες κατατακτήριες για να αποφασιστεί ποιοί θα περάσουν στους καλύτερους δέκα του Σαββάτου.

Οι κατατακτήριες ξεκίνησαν με τον καλύτερο τρόπο για την Yamaha, καθώς οι Nakasuga και Espargaro ήταν πρώτοι ο καθένας στη δική του έξοδο. Για τον Smith όμως τα πράγματα δεν ήταν τόσο εύκολα, καθώς τέθηκε αντιμέτωπος με τον Casey Stoner!

Ο Αυστραλός ήταν ταχύτατος και πήρε την πρώτη θέση σε κατατακτήριες μετά την Valencia το 2012! Ο Smith ήταν τέταρτος και σχεδόν οχτώ δέκατα πίσω από τον Stoner, την ώρα που η υψηλές θερμοκρασίες ήταν ο κύριος λόγος που κανείς δεν έφτασε το 2:06,877δ του Nakasuga νωρίτερα.

Ο Nakasuga έβαλε την Yamaha στην πρώτη θέση και πάλι στο Q1, με τον Espargaro να συνεχίζει στο ίδιο μοτίβο και να γράφει τον καλύτερό του γύρο (2:07,075) στις αρχές του Q2. Λίγο αργότερα όμως ο Ισπανός είχε μια σφοδρή πτώση καταστρέφοντας την R1 του, χωρίς ευτυχώς ο ίδιος να πάθει κάτι.

Με τη δεύτερη μοτοσυκλέτα της Yamaha, ο Smith - μαζί με τον Stoner - ήταν οι κυρίαρχοι στο δεύτερο σκέλος, μόνο και μόνο για να έρθει ένας πολύ δυνατός Kazuki Watanabe (Kawasaki) και να κάνει το εκπληκτικό 2:06,656δ! Ήταν ο καλύτερος χρόνος κι έδωσε στην Team Green την πρώτη θέση!

Στο όριο του 2:06 έπεσε και ο Casey Stoner στον τελευταίο του γύρο και ήταν η μόνη Honda που το κατάφερε, με τον Bradley Smith να γράφει 2:07,308 και να συμβιβάζεται με την τρίτη θέση.

Άσχημη πτώση ο Στόνερ. Είναι καλά, άλλα η μηχανή έγινε τροπέτο, ενώ ήταν 1ος. Στη γρήγορη δεξιά, πρίν τα φρένα για την πολύ κλειστή αριστερή της πίστας, φάνηκε να χάνει λίγο το μπροστινό κι ενώ ήτανε 5-6 γύρους μετά το πίτ στόπ, δε μπόρεσε να το φέρει ή να κόψει, άνοιξε τη γραμμή του και με φόρα πάτησε πλαγιασμένος στο γρασίδι, έφερε και 2-3 τούμπες ο ίδιος. Με 200 περίπου βγήκε, το ανακοίνωσε η ομάδα του. Κι ενώ φαινότανε μετά το πιτ στόπ πως παει χαλαρά και γρήγορα...

Επίσης, τελικά κατά τις 4.45 το ξημέρωμα άρχιζει η εκπομπή...μετά το είδα. Τη στιγμή που ανακοίνωσα πιο πάνω όμως για 6 το πρωί δεν το ήξερα. Σόρρυ.

Former MotoGP world champion Casey Stoner ended his challenge for the 2015 Suzuka Eight-Hours title after only 15 minutes of his first stint when his throttle stuck open and he was forced to jump off his Musashi Honda.

The crash resulted in a broken scapula and tibia for the Australian, who came out of retirement for the race, and disappointment for the team who have won the prestigious event for the last two years.

“I am really disappointed that the Suzuka Eight-Hours has ended like this. We have done a lot of work over the last few weeks to get accustomed to the bike and the track and work towards a setting that made all of us quite comfortable. We really felt that the race and everything had gone as we planned so far, we were very relaxed and comfortable and making sure we saved the tyres and the fuel to stretch the stint as long as we could,” said Stoner.

“Unfortunately, we experienced some mechanical trouble as I was going through the corner leading up to the hairpin. I did not have enough time to engage the clutch and I came in with too much speed, I picked the bike up to try to slow down more but I was heading towards the wall so I decided to lay it over and hit the barrier but unfortunately, they were a lot harder than they looked and we came out of it with a broken bone in the ankle and broken scapular.

“I want to say thanks to my team mates Michael van der Mark and Takumi Takahashi, – they have done a fantastic job over these weeks and this weekend especially. And I would also like to thank the team for how much effort everybody has put in. Their professionalism was outstanding and I really enjoyed working with them. I am very sorry that we could not achieve the strong result I believe we could have.”

Britain’s Bradley Smith and the Factory Yamaha team have won the 2015 Suzuka Eight-Hours at their first attempt with the new R1, taking victory from the FCC TSR squad in a race that saw former MotoGP champion Casey Stoner break a leg and shoulder (click here).

It is the first time Yamaha have won the prestigious Japanese race since Colin Edwards partnered Noriyuki Haga to glory in 1996.

“It’s a really special moment. To give the Yamaha factory its first win in 19 years with the work that has gone in, us riders haven’t really done much. A hundred people worked behind this project and we stood there on Tuesday and promised them this trophy. I am glad we were able to deliver,” said Smith, speaking in parc ferme.

Smith, who was partnered by fellow Monster Yamaha MotoGP rider Pol Espargaro and Yamaha golden boy Kats Nakasuga, had to battle back from a ride-through penalty to take the win by 1’17.11s from the FCC team, which featured Moto2 rider Dominique Aegerter and British World Supersport star Kyle Smith, whose girlfriend gave birth to their first child yesterday.

Team Kagayama, with Yukio Kagamaya, Haga and Ryuichi Kiyonari, bagged the final podium spot with Alex Lowes’ Yoshimura Suzuki squad fighting back from a crash by Takaya Tsuda to take fifth. Josh Waters was given the final stint to bring the bike home in the dark. SERT were the first of the regular World Endurance teams home in fourth place despite a pitstop in the final minutes.

GMT 94 Yamaha took sixth place, one ahead of the British-based Honda Racing team. The Honda Suzuka Racing Team were eighth, Team Green Kawasaki ninth and Motomap Suzuki completed the top ten.

Tommy Bridewell’s Penz13.com BMW team were forced to retire after pitting to solve a fuel tank problem and then Bastien Mackels crashed out. Jason O’Halloran’s Sakurai Dream Honda team also retired after a crash.

Στο βίντεο του Στόνερ ακούγεται καθαρά ο κόφτης. Και μιλάμε για πολύ έμπειρη, εξειδiκευμένη Honda, ομάδα, όπου πέρυσι κέρδισε με τους Haslam, VD Mark.

Honda Racing Corporation has carried out a detailed analysis following the crash of Casey Stoner in last weekend’s Suzuka 8 Hours.

Checking the throttle, which is a particular specification for endurance HRC factory bikes and different from the standard throttle used on the Honda CBR1000RR road version, a malfunction was discovered related to the throttle cable.

This kind of problem hasn’t arisen before, however HRC will cease using this throttle specification and will design a new one to be used for endurance races.

HRC has apologised to Casey Stoner and thanked him for the effort he made in attending the event.

Δε νομίζω ότι η ντίζα έχει καταργηθεί σε κάποιο μηχανάκι (ακόμα και σε αυτά των GP) απλά πλέον με τα RBW, ερμηνεύουν το ποσοστό ανοίγματος του γκαζιού και σε συνάρτηση με Χ σένσορες ακόμα ανοίγουν τις πεταλούδες Χ μοίρες

A stuck throttle forced Casey Stoner and MuSASHi RT HARC-PRO out of the Suzuka 8 Hour.
After two consecutive Suzuka 8 hour victories in 2013 and 2014, team MuSASHi RT HARC-PRO began this year’s race from third spot on the grid, but was unable to covert this to win number three. After 24 laps, Takumi Takahashi entered the pits in 2nd position and two-time MotoGP™ Champion Casey Stoner took over the reigns. Stoner worked his way up to 1st position on his first lap after the switch, but unfortunately he crashed out at the Suzuka Hairpin and the race was over for the MuSASHi RT HARC-PRO team.

Casey was taken to the medical centre where it was confirmed he had broken his right scapula (shoulder blade) and fractured his left ankle.

The team had to wait until the end of the race for the bike to be returned so they could exam what caused the accident. Together with HRC staff, the team checked the machine, and confirmed from the data that the throttle was 26 degrees open before the crash. It wasn’t clear why this happened and now the bike will be sent to HRC for a full inspection. HRC will communicate the findings to the media when there is more news.

Casey Stoner: “I am really disappointed that the Suzuka 8 hours has ended like this. I did not have enough time to engage the clutch and I came in with too much speed, I picked the bike up to try to slow down more but I was heading towards the wall so I decided to lay it over and hit the barrier but unfortunately, they were a lot harder than they looked and we came out of it with a broken bone in the ankle and broken scapular. I want to say thanks to my team mates Michael van der Mark and Takumi Takahashi, – they have done a fantastic job over these weeks and this weekend especially. And I would also like to thank the team for how much effort everybody has put in. Their professionalism was outstanding and I really enjoyed working with them. I am very sorry that we could not achieve the strong result I believe we could have.”

σε ένα πρωτάθλημα που δεν επιτρέπει αλλαγές σε δομικά και κύρια μέρη του κινητήρα (στροφαλοφόρος και κυλινδροπίστονα iirc) το GSXR έχει κυριαρχήσει τα τελευταία χρόνια και συνεχίζει να το κάνει με ένα μοντέλο που αναβαθμίστηκε τελευταία φορά πριν 6μιση χρόνια...!!!
