“Maybe I did a mistake in 2010 to move from Yamaha because I wanted to be the number one rider and when Jorge arrived he was treated equally to me,” he said. So I didn't like this [and left for Ducati]. But it was a mistake.
Ironically, with Lorenzo winning the 2010 and 2012 titles, Rossi says he now benefits from Yamaha's equal treatment policy since he has been allowed to return on an even keel with his title-winning team-mate.
“Now it is the same, but it [Yamaha's policy of equal treatment] is a small advantage for me. Because Jorge remained at Yamaha, became world champion but from when I returned I have had exactly the same treatment as him. Yamaha like it a lot when we fight. And they tried to support both of us at 100 per cent.
Lorenzo, meanwhile, is full of praise for the way Yamaha has treated him since making his debut, adding that he had 99.9 per cent equality when paired with Rossi.
“Yamaha have always treated me very well from when I joined the team in 2008. They gave me all the support on and off the bike. I have everything. In the first year compared with Valentino I had the Michelin tyres, so this aspect was different. But since 2009, from Brno, I've had exactly the same treatment as Valentino. Maybe before just one piece [on the bike] was different, but 99.9% was equal.
“From Brno 2009 we have had exactly the same treatment and now - as always - Yamaha always listens to the comments not only of the official riders, but also the Tech 3 riders to improve the bike. So I don't think they treat one rider differently to the others."

Honda RC213V-RS will not be ready by the post-race test in Valencia
HRC vice-president Shuhei Nakamoto says that the Honda RC213V-RS production racer bike will most likely not be available for the first official test of the 2015 season, the one after final 2014 round at Valencia. Apparently the teams who will field this bike will have to wait until 2015, most likely at the Sepang test.
After the RCV1000R production race Honda offered to the Open teams proved to be barely acceptable in comparison with the other bikes, especially those with the leased Yamaha M1 engine, Honda promised solid upgrades. The new production race was going to be more expensive, but the package would include pneumatic valves.
Basically, the Honda RC213V-RS should be pretty much the same machine Marquez and Pedrosa are currently riding, but with two “downtuning” items. The bike would not sport the seamless transmission and it would use the Open class ECU. Now, dropping the seamless gearbox and loading the spec ECU software may seem an easy job for the high expertise of the HRC engineers, but Nakamoto-san begs to differ.
No further tech-related details have been offered, gp-inside reports, but it looks like teams Aspar, LCR and Cardion AB, together with riders Jack Miller, Nicky Hayden, Eugene Laverty or Karel Abraham are not going to use new bikes in the Valencia test.
Anyway, this is not the first time Honda is late with the production race schedule. Similar delays have also been noted prior to the delivery of the actual RCV1000R.

DOUBLE MotoGP World Champion Casey Stoner has begun testing once again for the Repsol Honda Team on-board the 2015 Honda RC213V.
The former Repsol Honda rider started the two-day test on Wednesday at the Twin Ring circuit, Motegi, Japan.
Stoner has so far tested the 2015 Honda prototype evolution on Bridgestone tyres, but Bridgestone will no longer by the official MotoGP tyre supplier after the 2015 season as Michelin will be taking over. Therefore, the Australian will be using Michelin tyres during testing on Thursday.
GPOne.com spoke to Repsol Honda’s Team Principal Livio Suppo regarding testing: “As planned Casey is riding the 2015 RC213V.
"As we said earlier in the year the test has been organised with him after we lost some test time last year due to bad weather.
“So we’ve put together this two-day test, but for now there is no other test program planned. We prefer to take a day-by-day approach.”
Despite stating he'd lost the passion for racing, Stoner seems to be loving his testing duties with his former MotoGP team as he posted a photo on Instagram via his Twitter feed saying: “Good to be back testing with @hrc_motogp in Motegi! Loving the retro @hrc_motogp leathers from @Alpinestars.”
