If Jorge Lorenzo is resentful at Valentino Rossi’s imminent return to Yamaha then the Spaniard is doing an incredible job of hiding it.
Lorenzo has publicly welcomed back Rossi with open arms after the Italian signed a two-year deal to be back on a factory YZR-M1 during the recent summer break.
Rossi will end his Ducati nightmare at the end of 2012 to renew his rivalry with Lorenzo, who himself signed a new two-year deal with Yamaha earlier this season.
When the pair were Yamaha team-mates between 2008 and 2010 they engaged in a fierce rivalry that got so intense a ban on data sharing was introduced and the pair were split by a dividing wall.
But speaking at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway in America today, Lorenzo said: “I think it's interesting to see how we can handle again Valentino and me on the same team and the same bike. I'm very interested to see what is going on. And for me, it's a big pleasure to be team-mate with him again. I don't have any problem with anybody. Lorenzo, who currently leads the 2012 MotoGP world championship by 23-points over compatriot Dani Pedrosa, said he was informed by Yamaha prior to renewing his own contract that the Japanese factory was considering Rossi as an alternative option to struggling Texan Ben Spies.
But he was at pains again to make it clear that he had no qualms with Rossi returning.
He added: “I never cared about my team-mate and I will not care in the future. For me it is a pleasure to be again with Valentino, two more years with the same bike. So for me everything is positive.”

Από τότε που πρωτοξεκίνησε στο Παγκόσμιο Πρωτάθλημα, ο Jorge Lorenzo έχει περάσει αρκετά στάδια και αλλαγές, τόσο εντός όσο και εκτός πίστας! Από δαιμόνιος και θρασύς αναβάτης, έχει μετατραπεί σε μια μηχανή ακριβείας, σταθερός, δυνατός και ψυχολογικά ώριμος. Και σαν να μην έφταναν αυτά – προς κακή τύχη των αντιπάλων του – ο Ισπανός έχει δείξει και μια αέναη διάθεση για βελτίωση…!

«Η εικόνα μου έχει αλλάξει δραστικά τα τελευταία χρόνια. Έμαθα από τα λάθη μου και άλλαξα την γνώμη κάποιων ανθρώπων… Αλλά για να γίνει μια τέτοια αλλαγή δεν είναι εύκολο, ειδικά όταν πρέπει να καθαρίσεις τον χαρακτηρισμό ότι είσαι ψυχρός και αλαζόνας αναβάτης. Ωστόσο δεν είναι ακριβώς έτσι… κάποιοι είναι λιγότερο ψυχροί απ’ ότι δείχνουν…»
Σε ποιόν οφείλεις τον χαρακτήρα σου;
«Εν μέρει στην μητέρα μου, αλλά θεωρώ ότι μοιάζω πιο πολύ στον πατέρα μου, αν και έχει αλλάξει αρκετά σε πράγματα που θεωρούσα θετικά. Είναι αρκετά εσωστρεφής και πιστεύω ότι το ίδιο έγινα κι εγώ δίπλα του…»
Ποια είναι η σχέση σου με τον πατέρα σου τώρα;
«Ο πατέρας μου δεν θα αλλάξει πια… στην καλύτερη θα μείνει στα ίδια. Είναι καλύτερα να μην μιλάω για συγκεκριμένα πράγματα δημοσίως, διότι με επηρεάζουν. Οι άνθρωποι θεωρούν ότι απλά και μόνο επειδή είναι ο πατέρας μου, έχουμε τον ίδιο τρόπο σκέψης. Αλλά δεν είναι έτσι…»
Έχεις αλλάξει αρκετούς μάνατζερ στην καριέρα σου… θα έλεγες ότι είσαι επιφυλακτικός;
«Είμαι προσεκτικός γιατί την έχω πατήσει στο παρελθόν. Και επειδή τα χρήματα είναι πειρασμός για πολλούς, χρειάζονται προσεκτικές κινήσεις. Υπάρχουν πολλοί που είναι έτοιμοι να εκμεταλλευτούν τους αναβάτες και τις συνθήκες. Έτσι είναι η ζωή. Λίγοι είναι αυτοί που μπορείς να εμπιστευτείς. Μόνο η εμπειρία θα σου πει ποιος είναι ειλικρινής και ποιος όχι!»
Έχεις πει αρκετές φορές ότι θέλεις να οδηγήσεις μια Honda… Παραμένει αυτή σου η επιθυμία;
«Η Yamaha είναι ίδια με την Honda…. Όταν ήρθα στο MotoGP, η Honda ήταν το σημείο αναφοράς, η πιο επιτυχημένη και αυτή που είχε τον Valentino Rossi. Πάντοτε πίστευα ότι ήταν η καλύτερη μοτοσυκλέτα για εμένα… πάντως, στα 5 τελευταία χρόνια έχουμε κάνει σπουδαία δουλειά!»
Πως βλέπεις την επιστροφή του Vale στην ομάδα; Η συγκατοίκηση μαζί του σε έκανε πιο σκληρό;
«… Ίσως αν δεν είχα ομόσταυλο τον Valentino Rossi, να μην είχα και το κίνητρο να φτάσω στο επίπεδό του και να τον ξεπεράσω! Η απόδοσή μου, θεωρώ, δεν έχει φτάσει στα ίδια επίπεδα με αυτόν, αλλά είναι πάντα ωραίο να έχεις έναν ομόσταυλο, ο οποίος να μπορεί να σου δείχνει ότι με την ίδια μοτοσυκλέτα μπορείς να είσαι γρηγορότερος!»
Τώρα βέβαια, είσαι πιο γρήγορος από ποτέ! Τι έχει αλλάξει σε σχέση με το παρελθόν;
«Δεν είμαι ανίκητος, αλλά οπωσδήποτε έχω αλλάξει χρόνο με τον χρόνο! Το 2010 ήμουν σε εξαιρετική κατάσταση, αλλά βελτιώθηκα και σε άλλους παράγοντες, εντός κι εκτός πίστας που με βοήθησαν να κάνω λιγότερα λάθη και να αποφύγω αχρείαστες κόντρες… Αλλά και οι αντίπαλοί μου δεν κάθισαν με σταυρωμένα τα χέρια. Ο Stoner πέφτει λιγότερο, αν και μερικές φορές χάνει την αυτοσυγκέντρωσή του. Ο Pedrosa είναι πιο σταθερός και δεν τραυματίζεται συχνά, όπως στο παρελθόν…»

Τώρα αυτόν φαντάζομαι τον πήρανε επειδή το στιλ του μοιάζει με του Στόνερ?

Γιατί η ντουκάτι είναι ανίκανη να φτιάξει μόνη της πλαίσια, βλέπε εξωτερική προμηθευτές, χρόνοι παράδοσης, έξοδα κλπ κλπ

ΚΙ ΕΜΕΙΣ ΚΑΚΟ ΧΕΡΟΒΟΛΟ, ΚΙ ΕΣΕΙΣ ΚΑΚΟ ΔΕΜΑΤΙ...
Κοίτα ο Αντρίκος (ο Ντοβι) έχει μερικά καλά.
-Ξέρει να παίρνει ότι καλλίτερο μπορεί και να χτυπάει αποτελέσματα.
-Δεν κάνει λάθη
-Είναι καλός στην εξέλιξη (βλέπε εμπειρία Χόντα)
-Είναι συμπαθής
-Δεν είναι όμως το νο1 τιμόνι στην αγορά
Για να κάνει κάτι το ουσιαστικό όμως η Ντουκάτι πρέπει να λύσει το θέμα με τα πλαίσια
Θα τα είναι κλασσικά, μονής ραχοκοκαλιάς, αλουμίνια, κάρμπον, ποιος θα φτιάχνει και που…
Αν δε λυθούν αυτά είναι καταδικασμένος και ελπίζω να μη φάει και τα μούτρα του όπως ο Έκτορας προσπαθώντας να αποδείξει ότι αξίζει.
Απο ποτε έχει να μείνει η ντουκατι χωρίς Ιταλό οδηγό;;;;θα έμενε τώρα;;;
