1/ You just have to stop at the last petrol station at Maku (about 20 km from the border by the north road). There, just ask for a petrol card and you will get a card from a little office on the left side of the station .
This card cost 40 euros (500 000 rials) and you get a 100 L credits on it.
2/ We entered Iran on the 25th of August. We bought fuel in Maku. Look for the white petrol station on the right hand side as you exit Maku. The fenced building after the station is the one selling the cards.
We paid cash (i.e. we did not had to go at the bank).
3/ Anyone got by chance GPS Coordinates of the famous Fuel Station in Maku / White building and / or a Picture of it ? This would make life for many of us much easier
4/ I don't have photos or gps cordinates, but its fairly easy to find it: When you enter Maku from the border the road splits. Go to the left and follow the main road through the whole city (perhaps 2 km). There you'll find the petrol station and the fenced building on the right (a small office building with three smiling Iranians and a safe). Otherwise just ask a taxi-driver or at another petrol station. They would know.

been there myself today. took the pictures and the gps coordinates of the fuel card selling station in maku.
