Πέρυσι ο Hill είχε αναλύσει το άλμα στο βουνό. Παρότι εμείς εντυπωσιαζόμαστε με τα μεγάλα άλματα που παρεμπιπτόντως ελάχιστοι καταφέρνουν (μεταξύ αυτών ο Hopperάκλας :rockon:), το ιδανικό πέρασμα είναι με μικρότερο άλμα ώστε να κάτσει πιο ίσια το μοτοσακό και να πάρει πιο νωρίς το γκάζι.

Πάντως για να πετάξουν εκει απάνου, πρέπει να έχουν εξαιρετική έξοδο απο πριν στην δεξιά κάτι που θέλει άντερα γιατί το Hi παραμονεύει.

s Shane 'Shakey' Byrne claimed his fourth win of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship season Josh Brookes and Alex Lowes returned to the podium at Oulton Park. Here the Tyco Suzuki and Samsung Honda rider reflect on race two.

Improvement from Brookes pushes Tyco Suzuki to second

Brookes admits that some changes between the races gave him a better chance to fight for the victory in the second race at Oulton Park. The Australian made an attempt to pass Byrne on the penultimate lap but was forced to settle for second.

Brookes said: "That race felt a lot better after the first one and that is a big credit to the team who turned the bike around. I couldn't get the grip I needed in the first one but they changed the suspension and I could dig the tyres in and it worked. I enjoyed the second race and one error cost me, but there was a possible chance to take Shane and I had to try it to have a chance of the win but it did not come off. It was better to try it then than on the last lap and lose everything."

Lowes takes standings lead by single point

Lowes maintained his clean sweep of podium finishes in race two to move a single point ahead of Byrne in the overall points standings ahead of Knockhill. Lowes had led during the race but Byrne and Brookes pushed hard to defeat the race one winner.

Lowes said: "It is a bit frustrating in a sense not to have made it a double, but it was enjoyable and we had a bit of a dust up at the end of the races. The rising track temperatures didn't help me, but I'm not making excuses - I had fun out there and maintained my 100% podium record for the season. Once Shakey gets away he is hard to beat but I am enjoying being out there with him and Josh and having good battles with them."

Howie Mainwaring and the MH Kawasaki team surpassed their expectations last time out at Oulton Park with a fine seventh place in the second race and with some time to reflect and make improvements are aiming higher for the forthcoming Knockhill round (14/15/16 June).

Mainwaring had been consistent throughout the home event for both himself and the team; building throughout free practice and qualifying and then pushing hard in each race to score their best result of the season in only the team's third event. Mainwaring's seventh place was his best career performance in the Championship and he is now aiming even higher for Knockhill after surpassing the team's target of a top ten finish after only the sixth race of their debut campaign.

Mainwaring said: "We have been building up over the first few rounds and also for me it has been about adjusting back to Superbike. You expect the Superbike to feel closer to the Superstock model but you obviously run different tyres and can tweak more so you adjust to that feeling and also the races are slightly longer. I feel at the moment this is the happiest I have been in my racing for a few years and that also makes a big difference.

"At the start of the season I had set myself some goals; I didn't want to be struggling near the back and I was hopeful that once we had built up that we could aim for a top ten during the season; at Oulton Park we had a seventh and so you obviously change your goals a bit because as a racer you always want to achieve more. Every time we have been to an event we have had a different goal.

"Oulton Park was a good round for us and I think that was a combination of the team working well, everything coming together and a confidence from all of us that pushed us that little bit more. The first two rounds we had been finding our feet and now the bike feels like mine and I am more comfortable. The gap now before Knockhill hopefully will allow us to make some improvements, hopefully get out for a test, and come back aiming for the same in a few weeks' time. At Knockhill I would like to be able to equal the result we had at Oulton Park, if not hope and aim for more but that obviously isn't easy!"

Palmer joins Rapido Sport Racing Ducati in Pirelli National Superstock 1000

Rapido Sport Racing Ducati has signed Tristan Palmer to ride the Ducati Panigale R in the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship for the remainder of the season.

Palmer has a lot of experience riding in the ultra-competitive Superstock class, having taken fourth place in the 2011 championship before moving up to the Superbike class in 2012. The deal to ride a Ducati was finalised at the European round of the World Superbike Championship at Donington Park last weekend, and the team has two test days booked before the next round at Knockhill.

Palmer said: "I'm really excited about it as I've never raced on a Ducati before and am looking forward to learning a new machine. It's a lovely looking bike and it's done really well in Superstock championships elsewhere, so I can't wait to get out there and start pushing. We've got a couple of days testing lined up before Knockhill so I can get a good feel for the bike. The Rapido Sport Racing team are spot on; they know what they're doing with the set-up on the bike. I started the year in the Superstock Championship but it didn't exactly go to plan. I've had lots of success in this class before, and with a stronger team behind me I'm sure we'll be back at the front where we should be. The aim is to get the Ducati onto the podium."

Rapido Sport Racing Team Principal Steve Moore concluded: "Tristan was an obvious choice for the team. He's got a proven track record in this class and became available just at the right time for us. We're excited to be working with another great rider who will be able to continue the development of the Panigale and we're sure he'll be challenging at the front end very quickly. Once Lee is back and fighting fit it'll be even better. Having two bikes on the grid will be good for the team and we're hoping both riders will be able to push each other along and get in amongst the established front-runners."

Smrz set for Knockhill and targeting the top six

Jakub Smrz is aiming to build on his top ten finishes in the opening three rounds of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship as the Padgetts Honda team target the top six.

Smrz joined the team just ahead of the season and the Padgetts Honda team were limited like many of their rivals with testing due to the weather conditions, however the former World Superbike contender believes they have made good progress.

Smrz said: "It was really last minute that we could start the season and before Brands Hatch we had just a few days of testing and they were all in terrible conditions. I'm quite happy with our improvement and the team have done a great job, but we are still not where we want to be. At Thruxton we were doing great in the first sessions, but after qualifying was cancelled due to heavy rain we still needed more time before the race. Oulton Park was another big step forward and we had constant top ten pace, but of course as we were getting faster other problems start to come up which caused many mistakes."

Smrz has been getting to grips with the Honda after several seasons racing Ducatis, but admits he is adjusting well and just needs to keep pushing over the next few rounds as he bids to move up the order.

"I've spent six years on 2 cylinder with full electronics set-up options," added Smrz. "Now I'm mostly riding on new tracks with a different bike without traction control and very simple engine brake setting and that's the biggest problem. Once I start pushing hard I am not as confident and using old habits from the twin but we are working hard and at Oulton Park we found a few solutions to try at the next races."

Smrz's best result was a tenth place in the opening race at Thruxton and having scored points in all but one race so far this season, he is hoping to turn the consistency into improvements and is aiming high for the forthcoming events.

Smrz concluded: "Of course fighting for the top ten isn't what I want to do and where I want to be, but we all know how difficult it is in the first season of BSB and how tough the Championship is. At the moment before I feel totally confident on the bike with familiar tracks I'm just trying to finish the races and score points to be close to the top six. The Showdown system is really good and hopefully it will help me to be part of the top six riders fighting to become champion.

"The next race is Knockhill where we had a test, but it still won't be easy and Cadwell Park is also going to be difficult. Snetterton looks like a 'European style' track where we had the pre-season test and could immediately go fast and I am really looking forward to riding there. The other tracks like Brands Hatch and Donington I already know and of course it will be a little easier as I know almost all tracks. I just need to get some more feeling with the bike and sure on tracks I know well we could be very fast!"

Shane 'Shakey' Byrne set an incredible pace inside the Knockhill lap record in this afternoon's Datatag Extreme Qualifying session to claim pole position after a three-way fight with title rivals Josh Brookes and Alex Lowes in Q3.

In Q1 Brookes set the precedent as the Tyco Suzuki rider topped the times from Lowes and Byrne as the leading trio shifted between the leading positions. Meawhile the Milwaukee Yamaha team's woes continued as Josh Waters was eliminated after Q1 and will start 19th on the grid, whilst a last lap push from James Ellison saw him move into the safe zone in the dying seconds of the first session.

Q2 was as dramatic as the session before; Ellison was pushing hard to try and move up the order but he was forced to settle for 13th. The Milwaukee Yamaha rider had put in a last lap push but it wasn't enough. The one lap flying laps at the end of the session were frantic following a short red flag interval caused by Peter Hickman crashing unhurt at Scotsman with just a minute left of the clock. Keith Farmer was the only rider to improve into Q3 on his last lap dash as the Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki rider pushed Tommy Bridewell outside of the top ten.

Byrne had his targets set on claiming his second pole position of the season which he did in style with a lap under his record from 2006 with Brookes just 0.010 seconds adrift. Jon Kirkham heads the second row for Buildbase BMW with Ryuichi Kiyonari starting from fifth; his best qualifying result of the season so far. PJ Jacobsen completes row two from James Westmoreland and the improving Farmer. Chris Walker was ninth for Quattro Plant Kawasaki whilst Lloyds British GBmoto Honda worked hard to get Peter Hickman back on track to set a time for tenth place.

Tyco Suzuki's Josh Brookes will return to the grid at the prestigious Suzuka 8 Hour race in July as the Australian was unveiled as joining the line up for Yoshimura Suzuki Racing team who are previous winners of the annual event.

Brookes has raced at the event in the past and joins All Japan Championship contender Takuya Tsuda and Suzuki Factory test rider Nobuatsu Aoki to complete the three-rider team. Suzuki last won the event in 2009 and the team are now hunting their fifth victory at the Suzuka 8 hours World Endurance race.

Brookes said: "I'm happy to have been asked to join Yoshimura Suzuki at this year's Suzuka 8-hour. I have had an ambition to win at Suzuka since watching Grand Prix as a kid, when all the greats like Doohan, Rainey and Schwantz stopped mid-season to take in the event. I have already fulfilled my goal of competing there, but now that I've been given an opportunity to ride Yoshimura tuned GSX-R1000 at the event, I know that I'll be in a team capable of winning-even though it will not be easy. I'm really looking forward the event and hopefully we get on the podium."

In keeping with tradition, this weekend's Brands Hatch round of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship will now feature another special on track demonstration as the Grand Prix circuit is set to reverberate to the sound of Loris Capirossi's 990cc Marlboro Ducati Desmosedici MotoGP bike on Sunday.

The stunning 990cc Marlboro Ducati Desmosedici took Loris Capirossi to victory at the 2005 Japanese Grand Prix at Motegi and on behalf of Ducati Coventry/JHP Racing it will appear for a demonstration run in the build up to the opening MCE British Superbike Championship race of the day. The demonstration comes at a time when former British Supersport champion Cal Crutchlow has been celebrating podium success in the premier class.

The return of a MotoGP bike to Brands Hatch follows the hugely popular demos of past seasons including the Rizla Suzuki MotoGP machine in 2010 with Alvaro Bautista and in 2009 when Giacomo Agostini completed laps with his iconic 500-3 MV Agusta.

MCE BSB event set for iconic Britten V1000 demo at Brands Hatch

The extraordinary Britten V1000 will take to the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit for some unique demonstration laps planned during the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship next weekend (20/21 July) as spectators can get a unique glimpse of the iconic machine.

Only ten Britten V1000s were ever produced after it was innovatively designed and built by John Britten and a group of friends with limited resources in a home workshop in Christchurch, New Zealand during the early 90s. Their dream was to build the motorcycle from scratch and turn it into a winning machine which they achieved as it later went on to win the Battle of the Twins in Daytona, USA and set a number of world speed records.

The machine has been brought to the UK by New Zealand motorcycle enthusiast and collector Ken Grant. Ken's machine is the actual World Championship-winning bike, which won the 1996 World BEARS (British, European & American Race Series) title. It won at Daytona, took second place at Monza and then won again at Thruxton, Zeltweg, Brands Hatch and then Assen.

The Britten V1000 will be ridden by Scott Smart and features a number of innovations including extensive use of carbon fibre, the radiator located under the seat, double wishbone front suspension and frameless chassis and this will be a unique chance to see it on track with many now owned by private collectors and museums around the world.

Tyco Suzuki's Josh Brookes celebrated a second place finish with the Yoshimura Suzuki team in the prestigious Suzuka 8-Hour race at the weekend, marking a huge achievement as the team made an impressive comeback from a crash and a 30 second time penalty during the gruelling event.

Brookes was teamed up with Japanese riders Takuya Tsuda and Nobu Aoki to finish the event as the leading Suzuki team in the race which was won by the Musashi RT HARC PRO team, featuring British rider Leon Haslam. The end to the race was tantalisingly close after the eight hours on track with the Yoshimura Suzuki team finishing on the same 214th lap as the winners.

Yoshimura Suzuki held third position in the early stages before Aoki was given a stop-go penalty for infringing pit-lane speed and then Brookes suffered a crash, but he held onto the bike and kept it running to continue and finish his full stint. The team then fought their way back into second place at the four-hour stage; a position they held until the flag.

Brookes said: "It's a great feeling, but I'm a little disappointing for my mistake in the race, because I know the Suzuka 8 Hours is great race and very important for the manufacturers, sponsors and fans. When I crashed, I didn't let-go of the handlebars; I was dragged by the bike. It was like a trophy you don't want to let go of! I tried so hard, it is a great honour to be here as part of the team; and I'd like to come back again. Thank you to everyone at Yoshimura; the bike was perfect and I know we could have won had it not been for a mistake."

The FCC TSR Honda team featuring triple MCE BSB champion Ryuichi Kiyonari, were unable to finish the event when the Samsung Honda rider crashed just before the half-way stage whilst the Monster Energy YART team featuring Josh Waters ended the race in eighth place.
