An european moto-mag took the latest superbikes to the high speed track in Nardo/Italy and ran them against each other and found out a few interesting things what you usually don't get to read...
1) true top-speed
2)acceleration 0-250km/h !
3) roll-on 150-250km/h
4) 250-0 in meters !
By far the fastest in all accounts was the new beemer S1000RR...
305km/h,10,6sec,8,3sec and 235 m.
Second fastest was the MV Agusta F4;
297,12,0,10,5,254.
Fastest japanese was the Kawasaki ZX10R;
295,11,7,10,4,233.
Slowest japanese the Honda CBR1000RR;
289,12,3,9,1,261
Followed by the Aprilia RSVR;
285,13,1,9,4,242
Fastest twin the Ducati 1198S;
284,14,3,10,9,248
Slowest bike the KTM RC8R;
282,13,5,11,0,260
By the way there was a lot of carnage too where the first bike blew up.
The Aprilia RSVR destroyed a crankshaft,the GSXR 1000 put a whole in its crank-case by blowing a rod,the R1 blew a head-gasket,the MV F4 blew a tranny and the KTM burned a valve...
Only BMW,Honda,Kawasaki and Ducati had no problems running full throttle on the Nardo Track!
Pretty interesting is too that a MotoGP bike will go with a pro at the handle-bar 0-200 km/h in a little over 6 seconds and the S1000RR as the new high speed king in 6,9 sec roght out of the crate...
Too fast for the streets for sure but still pretty amazing what those new bikes will do with someone who knows how to do it!
